As a member of the Veterans Affairs Canada Family Advisory Committee (2016-2021) and a blogger on 45eNord.ca (2015-2020), I travel across Canada to understand the reality of veterans and their families. Whether they have chosen to settle in Costa Rica (2018), whether they are from Native communities and French-speaking communities outside of Quebec (2018), whether they are from deployed Canadian military families and Military Family Resource Centres (MFRCs), specifically in Italy and Belgium (2019), I go to meet them. I have developed an excellent knowledge of professions, the organizational culture and the engagements in which members of the CAF and the RCMP have participated.

As a recipient of the Veterans Ombudsman Commendation, I have been involved politically, in the media and publicly in understanding and speaking out about the unique challenges faced by those who have served our country, by their family members and also by the organizations and health care professionals who serve them.

I understand the challenges they face daily in obtaining the services and benefits they need to recover and maintain their quality of life. Understand, Support and Facilitate: Veteran Evaluation is a unique service in Canada, created to bridge the gap between health care professionals and veterans in their dealings with Veterans Affairs Canada.
